In its manifesto for low-carbon construction, setec has committed to systematically proposing low-carbon alternatives on its projects. But how do you do it when there’s neither the time nor the means to do it?
The setec group has therefore decided to launch a competition in early 2022 to support the development of low-carbon variants: the aim is to put together a dossier detailing a variant that significantly reduces the carbon impact of a setec project compared with its basic design. This variant may have already been implemented, or may have been imagined for the competition.
Following the call for projects, 36 applications were received, representing over 150 employees from 17 companies and 4 countries. 8 of the 22 projects selected were carried out by setec inter employees.
Each team now has 96 hours to produce a more detailed dossier of the proposed low-carbon alternative by the end of June. The proposals will be analyzed by a jury made up of members from outside the setec group.
