Le projet

The new Abidjan container terminal is being built in two phases. The first, under the Port Autonome d’Abidjan project, involved excavating the new earthwork and building the quay walls. The second phase, which is the subject of the present operation, concerns the construction of the platform itself, as well as all the equipment required for operation (crane tracks, networks, pavements, operating buildings, etc.). This phase is managed by CIT. The work to be carried out therefore concerns the construction of the terminal, the main features of which are as follows:

  • 5ha of quayside land ;
  • 32ha of container land;
  • 750m long main quay;
  • 350m long secondary quay;
  • RTG:
  • 5,800 spaces for 20′ containers,
  • 350 spaces for 20′ refrigerated containers,
  • 50 spaces for 20′ containers for hazardous materials,
  • 850 spaces for empty 20′ containers ;
  • heavy pavement (cement base and paving stone wearing course) ;
  • numerous networks: sanitation, drinking water/fire-fighting, electricity/lighting

Nos missions

  • Scheduling / Control / Coordination (OPC) ;
  • Work carried out within a very tight time frame: delivery date imposed by the port authorities;
  • approval of execution studies ;
  • visa for studies carried out by the Contractor :
  • checking sizing and compliance with regulations,
  • verification of compliance with good engineering practice ;
  • supervision of work carried out by the Contractor, with a team of 11 people on site at all times, including night work.
