Le projet

The Gabonese government appointed TOTAL Gabon to finance and manage the project to modernize, rehabilitate and bring Port-Gentil International Airport up to ICAO standards.

The project included

  • The construction of a new passenger terminal (9,000 m²) and a presidential pavilion (1,000 m²),
  • Extension and renovation of the runway, taxiways and aircraft parking areas,
  • Construction of city-side infrastructure (roads and associated networks).

The Passenger Terminal has a floor area of 6,300 m², with a second floor of 2,700 m². It is designed to handle 1 million passengers with a service level of C according to IATA.

The terminal features 13 check-in counters, 4 passport control stations and 4 BIPs, 2 boarding lounges (international and domestic), 2 VIP lounges, a baggage hall with 2 baggage conveyors, operator offices and a wide range of restaurants and shops.

The project also includes a power station (800 m²) with back-up generators, chilled water production, water tanks, wastewater treatment…

Four companies worked on the following lots: Structural work and finishing work, Electricity (high and low voltage), Fluids and Airport systems.



Nos missions

Our services were carried out in three phases:

  • Design studies and selection of contractors,
  • Work supervision,
  • ORAT (airport start-up assistance).

During the first phase, setec provided numerous services and assisted the project owner with :

  • Pre-project (AVP) and Project (PRO) phases and associated financial estimates,
  • Phasing of work,
  • Dossier de consultation des entreprises (DCE): specifications, quantities, etc.
  • Assistance with the tender process (ACT).

During the second phase, setec carried out :

  • Technical, administrative, contractual and financial project management,
  • Review of contractors’ working drawings (VISA),
  • Managing the production of contractors’ working drawings,
  • General quality control (DET),
  • Coordination of work between the various lots (OPC),
  • Assistance to the project owner to ensure the smooth running of the works
  • Assisting the owner to ensure certification of the work carried out.
