The Gabonese government appointed TOTAL Gabon to finance and manage the project to modernize, rehabilitate and bring Port-Gentil International Airport up to ICAO standards.
The project included
- The construction of a new passenger terminal (9,000 m²) and a presidential pavilion (1,000 m²),
- Extension and renovation of the runway, taxiways and aircraft parking areas,
- Construction of city-side infrastructure (roads and associated networks).
The Passenger Terminal has a floor area of 6,300 m², with a second floor of 2,700 m². It is designed to handle 1 million passengers with a service level of C according to IATA.
The terminal features 13 check-in counters, 4 passport control stations and 4 BIPs, 2 boarding lounges (international and domestic), 2 VIP lounges, a baggage hall with 2 baggage conveyors, operator offices and a wide range of restaurants and shops.

Four companies worked on the following lots: Structural work and finishing work, Electricity (high and low voltage), Fluids and Airport systems.
