The Malagasy government has launched a public tender for a 28-year concession to finance, design, develop, operate, maintain and service the Ivato and Nosy Be airports in Madagascar.
The program includes
- preliminary work that took place in Ivato in 2016:
- Construction of an aircraft parking area,
- 450m² extension and refurbishment of the existing 525m² Presidential Pavilion,
- Creation of a 2400 m² car parking area.
- Development work at Ivato (1.8 million pax by 2030):
- construction of a new 17,500 m² two-storey international terminal,
- renovation of the existing international terminal to handle domestic flights,
- reinforcement of the existing 3100-metre runway and tarmac.
- Development work on Nosy Be (0.3 M. pax) :
- renovation of the existing 1,800 m² terminal,
- renovation of the existing 2230 m runway,
- airport infrastructure upgrades.
