Le projet

Velana International Airport (VIA) is the main gateway to the Maldives, located on the island of Hulhule in the northern part of the Maldives. The airport’s development is a major challenge for the country, with in particular the construction of a new runway, a new international terminal, a new seaplane terminal and a new cargo terminal. The Maldivian government is also building a bridge linking the capital island of Malé to the airport island.

The new 102,000 m² terminal (ultimate stage) will accommodate 7.5 million passengers, while offering a quality of service in keeping with the lush image of the Maldives. The terminal has 6 contact stations, including 2 F-code stations, and can be upgraded to 9 stations. The terminal also includes a technical building and new road infrastructure, to ensure perfect connections with the city and the sea.

All these projects, carried out by different designers and builders, require more careful planning to guide the island’s development, as well as technical assistance to ensure that the airport’s short- and medium-term developments run smoothly.

Setec therefore provided comprehensive support for this project

through a technical assistance mission
secondly, by providing integrated project management for the new terminal.

Nos missions

Concernant le terminal voyageur, Saudi Binladin Group (SBG) a été mandaté pour la conception-construction du nouveau terminal, sur la base d’un Contrat FIDIC Silver Book. Setec a été sélectionné comme designer, pour la réalisation des phases Concept Design, Schematic Design et Final Design, ainsi que pour l’accompagnement pendant la construction.

Setec est responsable de l’ensemble de la conception en BIM du bâtiment et des infrastructures associées et nous assurons aussi le management de la conception.

Nous sommes ainsi en charge de:

Management de la conception
BIM Management
Architecture
Structure
Tous les corps d’état technique
Systèmes aéroportuaires (tri-bagages, passerelles, systèmes informatiques)
VRD associés

Pour la première phase de conception, l’équipe intègre sur un même plateau technique le management, les architectes et les ingénieurs des différents corps d’état.

Setec accompagne enfin le constructeur SBG pendant la construction, avec le déploiement d’une équipe locale et en back-office, afin de revoir les documents de construction (shop drawings), les documents des fournisseurs et de pouvoir répondre efficacement aux différentes questions du chantier.

Pour la partie planification , setec a réalisé les prestations suivantes :

Planification : masterplans du côté ville, comprenant la planification de l’occupation du territoire, le développement des infrastructures routières et des parkings à partir d’études et prévisions de trafic ainsi que les réseaux d’alimentation (eau, électricité, eaux usées…)
Etudes techniques : conception de deux centrales de traitement des eaux usées, réalisation d’études PRO pour les aménagements routiers côté ville, conception du fire hydrant airside.
