setec international contributes to sustainable mobility by carrying out a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) for Société des Grands Projets. This study is part of the Lorraine-Luxembourg and Mulhouse-Basel Regional Express Services (SERM) projects, and is being carried out in close collaboration with setec als. Begun in 2024, this study will continue throughout 2025.
SERM Projects objectives
SERM projects, initiated by the Regions and Metropolises, aim to offer alternative mobility solutions to the car. By combining trains, express coaches, urban transport and bicycles, these projects meet growing mobility needs while reducing carbon footprints.
- Lorraine – Luxembourg: This project is designed to meet the growing demand for mobility on the Nancy-Metz-Thionville-Luxembourg corridor. The aim is to promote multimodality and modal shift from road to rail, while developing rail freight.
- Mulhouse – Basel: This project focuses on developing the service offer around Mulhouse, in particular its rail hub, to cope with the increase in traffic linked to the “RER Basel”.
Our vision
At setec international, we firmly believe that the development of transport infrastructures must be accompanied by a profound respect for the environment and local communities. By integrating the principles of sustainability and environmental protection, our team strives to offer innovative and balanced solutions. Our aim is to meet mobility needs while preserving the natural riches of the Grand Est region.
